The international youth Contest «BRICS People’s Anthem» gains momentum

On May 11, the organisers of the International Youth Contest for the creation of the BRICS People’s Anthem, held in the year of Russia's BRICS Chairmanship, met online with a team of young musicians and composers from Brazil.

In the course of the meeting, which took place in a warm and friendly atmosphere, the Brazilian participants of the Contest got answers to all the questions concerning the organisation and conduct of the project, the requirements to the competition materials, the procedure for checking the works and determining the laureates and prize-winners.

The representatives of the Brazilian creative youth showed particular interest in the project, sending more than 20 poetic compositions and musical compositions.

The coordinator and organiser of the Brazilian phase of the Contest, including this online meeting is Lais Vitória, student of University of Brasília, Brazil, Brazilian youth activist.

The Russian part at the online meeting was represented by Dmitry Kurbatov, member of the organising committee of the Contest, coordinator for international projects of the Regional Public Organisation «BRICS. World of Traditions».

Representatives of other BRICS countries – India, China, Russia, South Africa and Ethiopia are also actively participating in the Competition.

Currently, more than 50 people have applied for participation in the Competition. Applications and materials will be accepted till May 31, 2024.

The BRICS People’s Anthem created within the framework of the Russian stage of the programme «BRICS People Choosing Life», will become a multinational cultural code of the association, reflecting the aspirations of the BRICS peoples to unity, and will serve to identify and promote the creative talents of the youth of the BRICS countries, as well as develop moral and patriotic education of the young generation, and popularise the national traditions of the countries.

Creating a multilingual anthem, young people act as a true «guider» of their countries’ people, a conduit of their traditions, ideas, views and values, which they strive to demonstrate to the world on behalf of BRICS peoples.

The competition to create the BRICS People’s Anthem is gaining momentum.
